About this community:

Painesville is a historic, diverse community of roughly 20,300 people, and we love our dogs! We have worked for over five years to fundraise for an off-leash dog park, and now we need your help to make it a reality. Please VOTE “Painesville” and help us win $25,000 to create a dog park that is “pain-free” and “leash-free” for all dogs in our community.

Why this community deserves a Bark for Your Park™ grant:

Painesville parks are more important than ever! During COVID, residents and pups visited parks to exercise, relax and connect with their community. It’s proven dogs support mental health and overall well-being of their owners. A dog park will build a dog-friendly network, bringing the Painesville community and dog-lover community closer. Lake County has two “off-leash” dog parks; one park per 114,850 residents. Unfortunately, neither park is within walking distance to our urban community. After public comments favoring dog parks, the Painesville Dog Park Task Force was created and has worked for five years to raise money for infrastructure improvements at Rotary Park, the city-identified future dog park. Money raised improved parking and drainage. Now, it’s time to build the off-leash area. Fencing quotes more than doubled this year. We are so close! Please “Vote Painesville” and help us achieve our off-leash dog park goal, improving quality of life for residents and their pups!

How this community would use a Bark for Your Park™ grant:

The $25,000 will be utilized to purchase and install fencing for a one-and-a-half acre off-leash dog park, which will be divided into two areas; one section for small dogs and one section for larger dogs. Ample parking and drainage are ready at this location. Picnic tables and seating will be available for dog owners as well.
